Arthritis Pain and Mobility
Discuss care for arthritis-related pain and stiffness
Arthritis, pain, and movement
Arthritis can affect comfort, stiffness, and everyday activity. Different types require different care. Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are not the same condition, so an accurate diagnosis and an individualized plan matter.
How we approach your concerns
At Crossroads Chiropractic in Sharpsburg, we review your health history, diagnosis, current treatment, and examination findings. We discuss whether supportive musculoskeletal care, activity guidance, or referral is appropriate for you.
Some patients report improvement in pain, stiffness, or overall well-being while receiving care. Results vary. Chiropractic care is not presented as a way to prevent arthritis, restore lost cartilage, cure rheumatoid arthritis, or reverse an autoimmune disease.
Rheumatoid and other inflammatory arthritis
These conditions require medical management, often with a rheumatologist. Continue prescribed treatment and discuss medication changes with the clinician who manages it. Joint inflammation, bone health, and other medical factors can affect whether a manual technique is appropriate.
Common questions
Will I need X-rays?
Imaging is considered when clinically appropriate after reviewing your history and examination. It is not automatically required for every patient.
How soon might I notice a change?
That depends on your condition, goals, and response to care. We review progress and reconsider the plan when necessary; no fixed recovery timeline is promised.
Can I continue seeing my medical clinician?
Yes. Chiropractic care, when appropriate, should fit within your overall care plan and does not replace needed medical treatment.
