Chiropractor Sharpsburg GA – How Chiropractic Can Improve Your Memory

memoryIn this weeks video health tip, Dr. Samir Hajariwala, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, takes a look at how chiropractic care can positively preserve the brain’s neuroplasticity and improve memory.

A strong memory depends on the health and vitality of your brain.

The human brain has an astonishing ability to adapt and change at all ages. This ability is known as neuroplasticity.

With the right stimulation, your brain can form new neural pathways, alter existing connections, and adapt and react in ever-changing ways.

Chiropractic has become a subject of discussion among researchers studying neuroplasticity.

With the link between the spine and brain evident, researchers have begun to look at how chiropractic adjustments can be used as a beneficial tool to help preserve positive neuroplasticity.

Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to create more efficient brain function as they help the central nervous system function as it should.

This increases mental capacities like memory and creativity, and improves communication from the brain to the rest of your body.

To maximize and strengthen your brain it is important to:
1.  Keep learning and developing new skills.
2.  Always push yourself to stretch your capabilities.
3.  Choose challenging activities that are still enjoyable and satisfying.

Making chiropractic care part of your spine and brain health maintenance plan will help you live a long, happy, active and pain-free life.

Remember you and your family can be as healthy as can be, and it’s never too soon to start receiving chiropractic care. Your best source for everything health is your chiropractor.  It’s never too early or late to see the team at Crossroads Chiropractic. What’s New With Dr Matt

I would like to catch everyone am up on my what’s been going on…

Well a month or so ago I mentioned a surprise to be announced. I must first preface by saying in April I moved my primary residence to Naples FL. I continue to own and manage Crossroads Chiropractic and am back in town monthly to spend time in the office and coaching for Rule One investing seminars. My parents have a very comfortable home that has separate living quarters that turned into “Matts side of the house” and has become a second home for me especially after my 3 week evacuation from hurricane Irma.

OK so the announcement…..
I had an opportunity come up in Naples were a chiropractor was going into semi retirement and needed someone to take over his practice. It has been a chiro office for 16 years. So over the past 6 wks that I have pretty much vanished from FB I have been completely renovating and updating my new office, Chiropractic of Naples. The office had not seen a chiropractic pt for 3 months and had no pts scheduled.  I opened and saw my first new pt November 9th.

I am replicating all the systems and procedures as Crossroads Chiropractic. This office is an extension of my personal vision and the Crossroads Chiropractic mission to “Inspire my community to a higher level of health through fun, leadership and education and encourage others to share this fine and noble mission”.
Two offices growing, adapting, improving, progressing, inspiring, and helping people achieve and maintain health!

So those Crossroads Chiro practice members can vacation in south Florida and stay on your care plan! Get an adjustment right before the beach! I am absolutely loving it here and it is my happy place. Charlie and I are walking on the beach multiple times a week. It is a very dog friendly town. The food and people are amazing!

Dr Randi Ross, my awesome long time friend/ business partner and marketing specialist for both offices has been working behind the scenes and has my new website and social media up and branding me in this area for the type of work I do with kids, families, and wellness chiropractic care. I am daily meeting people in the area, business owners, attorneys, etc. If you guys have any connection please feel free to share with me.

So to make up for my disappearance I wanted to post some pics from the past two months. Thx to my wonderful girlfriend Christina and my parents for hauling some chiro equipment down here and helping me set up computers and a server.

Thx to the amazing team at Crossroads for growing and thriving during this transition.

More updates and surprises to come!

Chiropractor Sharpsburg GA – Non Drug Back Pain Therapies

Non Drug Back Pain TherapiesIn this video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at the latest non drug back pain therapies that medical guidelines are recommending.

For the first time, the American College of Physicians is advising drug free measures for treatment of back pain like chiropractic, tai chi, yoga, and massage before resorting to over-the-counter or prescription pain relievers.

The ACP guidelines also have moved further away from “low-value”s treatments.  Low value treatments are those treatments that have now shown to be very ineffective in helping patients achieve relief.  Examples of low value treatments are  doctors prescribing opioids due to their risk of addiction or overdose, performing MRIs and surgeries, and giving injections (such as steroids) to treat back pain.

If you are looking for a safe high value non drug back pain therapies, chiropractic is the best choice. A new Consumer Reports survey of more than 3,500 back-pain sufferers reached similar conclusions: Nearly 90 percent of people who tried spinal manipulation found it helpful.

Gut BacteriaIn this video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at how brain disorders ranging from mood or anxiety to other problems that may include autism, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis, may be affected by the bacteria in your colon.

Looking at the most common gastrointestinal disorder in the world, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), patients diagnosed with IBS suffer from abdominal pain, diarrhea and constipation, and interestingly also suffer from chronic anxiety or depression.

With this in mind, a new study, using recipient mice, published in Science Translational Medicine explored whether fecal bacteria or microbiota as they call it, from human IBS patients had the ability to influence gut and brain function.

The study revealed that microbiota in the gut can indeed influence the brain, suggesting that the intestinal microbiota may play some role in the spectrum of brain disorders ranging from mood or anxiety to other problems that may include autism, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis.

Chiropractor Sharpsburg GA -Validating Chiropractic Care

Validating Chiropractic CareIn this video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information showing recent research that supports the effectiveness of chiropractic adjustments in treating acute and chronic conditions.

Chiropractic is practiced all over the world, and is an increasingly popular as well as effective form of treatment.  In fact, many medical doctors recommend that their patients seek chiropractic care for a variety of conditions before pursuing more invasive measures such as surgery.

Roughly 80% of adults have experienced back pain at some point.   In a study by Consumer Reports, 14,000 back pain sufferers were surveyed and rated chiropractic adjustments as the #1 treatment option.

In a similar study by the Annals of Internal Medicine, 272 recent onset neck pain patients were treated using three different methods:
•    Medication
•    Exercise and
•    Regular Chiropractic Adjustments

At the conclusion of the twelve-week study, patients who had regular chiropractic adjustments were twice as likely to be pain free as those who were treated with medication and exercise.

Chronic head pain, including migraines is another common condition that chiropractic adjustments can provide relief for.

In a study that tracked 127 migraine sufferers, those who received regular chiropractic adjustments reported a decrease in the number of migraine attacks and less need to take medication.

With the rising costs of healthcare, specifically prescription medication, mitigating pharmaceutical costs can provide extra benefits.

Recent statistics show chronic pain sufferers utilizing chiropractic adjustments for treatment of back pain experienced a 20% reduction in overall care costs and may help save Medicare costs by more than $80 million per year.
